Joe was a valued member of the IMC team. He was more active with IMC in the 1990s and early 2000s before he retired, but supported us over the years after retirement as well. He was very knowledgeable surrounding everything to do with the power sector, with a specialty related to gas-fired co-generation. He supported IMC for the original scoping work for the first power generation at Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries. He also was very involved with work related to the restructuring of the St .Marys Paper mill.
The son of Ukrainian immigrants, he rose from a simple upbringing to become an internationally renowned engineer, specializing in the creation of gas turbine power. He is still remembered for his career at Dow Chemical and his own consulting firm. His family and friends will always remember him for his powerful love of people and animals. Joe’s presence in the world was big and beautiful and will live on the many people who learned from him how to live a fine life and celebrate achievements and simple moments.
