
Karen Leibovici is a highly accomplished leader with a strong track record in various roles. She has served as the President and Board Member of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, where she played a key role in negotiating a significant infrastructure plan with the federal government. Her experience also includes serving as a Councillor in the City of Edmonton, where she led initiatives such as the Transforming Edmonton Initiative and Affordable Housing Initiative. In addition, she has been involved in provincial politics as an MLA in the Alberta Legislature. Her extensive experience also extends to various board memberships, consulting, and executive director roles. Karen holds a Masters of Social Work from McGill University and has completed the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors. In 2023, she was honoured with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, and an Edmonton park was named after her. Karen is currently a board member on the Canada Energy Regulator. Her remarkable contributions and leadership have left a lasting impact on the community and beyond.
