Dr. Good grew up in Ontario, obtained a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Ottawa in 1986 and worked as a faculty member at the University of Alberta for 28 years, initially in the Department of Genetics.
His main research interests are in the genetics of crop improvement, and the molecular biology of nutrient use efficiency in crop plants. He was the developer of one of the key technologies being evaluated to improve nitrogen use efficiency in plants and was the founder and CSO of AgriGenomics Inc. He was a full professor at the University of Alberta, now in retirement, and is also a full time farmer, with growing interests in apple and fruit breeding and horticulture.
