Mr. Neigel is the past President and CEO of CAREERS: the Next Generation Foundation, recently retired after a successful 18 years. Prior to his work with CAREERS, Andy provided leadership in the forest industry for more than 25 years throughout British Columbia and Alberta and concluded his forestry career as General Manager and Vice President of Operations at AlbertaPacific Forest Industries Inc. Andy earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry at the University of Alberta and a Forestry Diploma at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is a Retired Registered Professional Forester both in Alberta and British Columbia, and a graduate of the Queen’s School of Business, Executive and Leadership programs. In 2015, he received his ICD.D designation through the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Neigel most recently has served as a member on the Alberta Government’s Curriculum Advisory Panel and Skills for Jobs Task Force and on the College of Alberta School Superintendents, Trades, Apprenticeship, & Vocational Education Committee. Andy is currently a Board Director with the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Polytechnic and the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta. Mr. Neigel has also served as Board Director for the Alberta Energy Regulator (formerly the ERCB), Athabasca University, the Northern Alberta Development Council, the Forest Products Association of Canada, the Pulp and Paper Institute of Canada, the Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada and Portage College. Andy and his wife Kathi reside west of Edmonton, where they continue to enjoy the company of their 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
